ANIMASAUN WINS NATIONAL YOUNG SCIENTISTS PRIZE FOR MATHEMATICAL SCIENCES

A new winner of Professor Aderemi Kuku National Young Sciences, 2020 edition has emerged. He is Dr. Animasun Isaac of the Department of Mathematical Sciences, Federal University of Technology Akure. The January 2021 edition of the quarterly publication of the Nigerian Young Academy (NYA) published to mark the 10th year anniversary celebration and 2020 General Assembly of the NYA announced the result of the award. Announcing the winners for 2020, the Publicity Secretary of NYA and Chair, Publicity Committee wrote “as an Academy that is rooted in a deep culture of excellence, the NYA honoured five outstanding young researchers with the National Young Scientists Prizes in different fields.

The categories of awards presented include Professor Aderemi Kuku National Young Scientists’ Prize for the Mathematical Sciences won by Dr. Isaac Lare Animasaun of the Federal University of Technology, Akure”.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Joseph Fuwape has congratulated Dr. Animasaun for this great feat which he described as very commendable in the dreaded field of Mathematics. According to him, Animasaun’s attainment is another feather to the cap of FUTA. He encourages staff and students not to relent in flying high the University’s flag.
