Team PERSOLEARN from The Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) has won the Cisco CBP Nigeria Ideathon Competition.
FUTA's Team PERSOLEARN made up of Oyelaja Iremide: Team Lead and Data Scientist, Kolawole Taiwo: UI/UX Designer, Shiaki Nunsi: Finance Manager, Faluyi Isaiah: Senior Developer, Ayodele Righteous: Project Manager and coached by Professor Folasade Dahunsi, coordinator CISCO Academy, FUTA was adjudged the best beating Covenant University, Federal University Oye-Ekiti and University of Jos to the 2nd, 3rd position respectively.

Solution Overview
PERSOLEARN addresses SDG 4: Quality Education by leveraging Cisco technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Analytics and Automation tools like Cisco Edge Fog Fabrics.
PERSOLEARN aims to revolutionize senior secondary school education by integrating AI to enhance learning experiences. Its unique features include Personalized Learning, Computerized Adaptive Learning Tests, and Gamified Learning Approach. PERSOLEARN target audiences are senior secondary students, senior secondary school authorities, extra class pre-varsities, teachers, parents/guardians and governmental educational agencies.
The competition commenced with team registration and proposal submission, followed by a review process, leading to the selection of the top 5 finalists, including Team
PERSOLEARN on the 23rd November, 2023. A virtual debrief session on December 8, 2023, introduced the team to mentor Funmi Fasasi, who provided guidance throughout the preparation phase. The journey involved rigorous brainstorming and mentoring sessions, in preparation for the finale.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Adenike Oladiji FAS, has congratulated Team FUTA describing their victory in the competition as another heartwarming confirmation of the leading position of the Institutions in technology and product development.

About Ideathon
The Cisco Ideathon is an opportunity for students with potential and creativity to be a part of Cisco’s technological innovations. It presents a competitive model to showcase original thinking and problem-solving aptitude using technologies like 5G, Internet of Things, networking infrastructure and collaboration to address global issues related to education, healthcare, water conservation, environment and sustainability. The program enables qualifiers of Ideathon to get an internship with full-time placement opportunities.
