FUTA Flags Off Projects for College of Health Sciences, Centre for Continuing Education


The Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Technology Akure, FUTA Professor Adenike Oladiji has charged contractor handling the construction of the FUTA College of Health Sciences at the permanent site, Ilu Abo Akure and Centre for Continuing Education, CCE Ibule-soro to ensure they deliver the projects promptly and to qualitative specification. She spoke at the formal handover of sites to the contractors on Tuesday January 9, 2024. Professor Oladiji said the projects should be executed and delivered on schedule to enable the movement of the College of Health Sciences to its permanent site and give fillip to the training of medical students. Professor Oladiji pleaded with the contractors to deliver a thorough and quality job that would stand the test of time. She particularly said she would not want to witness another occasion where a contract was terminated because of negligence on the part of the contractor. She commended the Directorate of physical planning for its professional supervision of the process. Speaking earlier the Director, Directorate of Physical Planning, Engineer, Oladeji Boyinbode assured that the Directorate will not rest until the job is delivered since the contractors have been fully mobilized. He said the CCE,Ibule-Soro will witness the construction and furnishing of academic building (one storey),construction of laboratory building (one storey) and construction of perimeter wall fence.

For the College of Health Sciences there will be the construction and furnishing of classroom Building (8 Classroom block-storey building),construction and furnishing of Lecture Theater building (250 capacity each),Construction and furnishing of School of Clinical Sciences building , and construction and furnishing of Lecture Theatre building (500 capacity).
