CONVID-19 PREVENTIVE MEASURES :
FUTA DEEPENS SOCIAL DISTANCING MECHANISM,ASKS  SOME MEMBERS OF STAFF TO WORK FROM HOME ...

As part of additional preventive measures  against COVID-19 pandemic, the Management of the Federal University of Technology Akure, FUTA has asked all members of staff on CONTISS 01 - 12 to work from home with effect from Tuesday 24th March 2020 until further notice. This is to deepen the Social Distancing Mechanism, which is one of the key counter measures prescribed by experts as the World continues the battle against Corona Virus. Members of Staff in this category  are however expected to keep their mobile phones active to make contact seamless when their attention is needed.

All workers on grade level 13 and above and those providing essential services (Health Services, Security, Power and Water Supply etc) irrespective of their grades should continue to report for work. They are however strongly advised to continue to strictly maintain the various anti-CoronaVirus measures put in place by the University such as strict hygiene, hand washing with soap and water including use of Sanitizers and to reduce social interaction to the barest minimum.

Before this new measure , the University had on 20th March 2020 asked all students to vacate the Halls of Residence and suspended all academic activities involving students. It also suspended all conferences, meetings, seminars and carried out a sensitization walk on CoronaVirus and Lassa Fever. The walk anchored by the School of Health and Health Technology and the University Medical Services enlightened staff and students as well as member of contiguous communities on preventive measures against the two deadly diseases.
