The Federal University of Technology Akure FUTA 1997 Set Alumni of Department of Physics have donated two 65 inches smart televisions and solar components to its Alma mata enhance teaching and learning. Making the presentation to the Department, Professor Joseph Ojo, the Set representative and a Professor in the Department explained that the passion for academic excellence and seamless teaching propelled the donation to the Department. He said it was his class’ way of giving back to the Department that had trained successful academics, heads of businesses and parastatals, captain of industries and above all contributing to teaching and learning.
He noted also that the 5 million naira project was a bridge between the gradual exit from the use of projectors as teaching aids to more modern facilities, hence the need to step up, emphasizing particularly the advantage of solar powered systems which informed the choice of smart televisions to allow the staff and students enjoy maximum benefit such a 24 hours digitalization while learning. Corroborating Professor Ojo, the Head of Department, Professor Emmanuel Ogolo ,said the smart televisions will be instrumental in delivering lectures and ensuring that the students have access to high-quality visual aids and interactive learning experiences.
In response, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Adenike Oladiji thanked the donors profusely for their support and prayed for God’s provision for them to continue to see their alma mata as part of them and be ready to heed the clarion call to give back at any time. She also called on the end users to handle the donated items with care while making maximum use of them for the purpose for which they were donated.
