Cleric Charges Nigerians on Faithfulness as Chapel of Faith, FUTA Celebrates 40th Anniversary.

The Bishop of Agodi Diocese of the Methodist Church , Ibadan, The Rt. Rev. Simeon Onaleke has said that Nigeria and the church will flourish if people are committed to imbibing the virtues of faithfulness, forthrightness, and accountability in all areas of endeavor. He stated this during the Thanksgiving Service to round off the 40th Anniversary Celebration of The Chapel of Faith Federal University of Technology Akure FUTA on Sunday 28th July 2024.
In his homily at the Sunday service, the Methodist cleric said "God's faithfulness is evident all around us. Despite prevailing circumstances, a discerning mind can still observe that God is faithful. There are a thousand reasons to worry about situations around us, but we can rest knowing that God is reliable and dependable and will deliver us from every trouble and hardship we find ourselves". According to him, “Faithfulness is a virtue that is fast eroding in the society today. Nigerians are going through untold hardship because politicians are not faithful to their campaign promises. Marriages are in crisis today because couples are not faithful to each other. The reason we have been preserved is because God keeps his words and promises. If we want a better society, we must be people with integrity ".
The bishop urged members of the Chapel to forge ahead in the spirit of oneness adding that remarkable feats can only be achieved if people are united and share common goals and aspirations. He reiterated that the church is a beacon of hope in the community and implored congregants to aspire to maintain the peaceful coexistence in FUTA and in the country as a whole .
