FUWAPE, BALOGUN, OTHERS RECEIVE U.I LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Technology, Akure Professor Joseph Fuwape and one of his predecessors in office ,Professor Adebisi Balogun were among distinguished Alumni of the University of Ibadan honoured with Life Time Achievement Award at the Trenchard Hall, University of Ibadan on 16th November 2018 as part of the activities marking the 70th anniversary of the country’s premier University. Other recipients of the Life Time Achievement award include Vice-Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University, Professor Ajibefun Igbekele and the Vice-Chancellor, University of Africa, Toru-orua (UAT) Bayelsa State, Professor Valentine Aletor who are on Leave of absence from FUTA. The event witnessed the celebration of University of Ibadan Alumni, Erudite Scholars and different personalities from various works of life.
In a welcome address the Vice-Chancellor of University of Ibadan, Professor Abel Idowu Olayinka thanked all the guests and congratulated all the awardees. He said the 70th anniversary of the Premier University which heralded the award ceremony is all about sustaining the legacy and raising the bar. Professor Olayinka noted that the happenings in University of Ibadan within the last couple of years were outstanding from what it used to be. He said aside from the 70th year’s anniversary celebration the Award is geared towards celebrating hard work and contributions to the development of society and humanity by distinguished products of the University.
