The President, Commonwealth Association of Surveyors and Land Economy (CASLE) Mr. Joseph Ajanlekoko (FNIQS, FNIM) has described the Federal University of Technology Akure, FUTA as a Trailblazer in learning and research. He gave the commendation during a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor, Professor Adenike Oladiji , on the sideline of his working visit to the institution as the guest speaker for a lecture organized for staff and students of department of Quantity Surveying.
Ajanlekoko who is also the Current Chairman Board of Trustees of Nigeria Institute of Quantity Surveying (NIQS) foundation, said " The retinue of staff in FUTA makes it a trailblazer in learning and research. Their professionalism and excellence are very clear and my coming here is to interface with staff and students. I also want to develop mentors to prevent the dearth of experts in the profession. My drive is the development of my profession and FUTA has a lot to offer in this regard. Quantity Surveying is a hobby I enjoy. I'm glad about the meteoric rise of the profession over the years and I am glad to have contributed my quota to its growth and development.”
Speaking during the visit, the Dean, School of Environmental Technology, SET, Professor Isaac Aje described Ajanlekoko as a leading light in the field of Quantity Surveying in Nigeria. He said "He's a leader in quantity surveying and has many qualifications to his credit. He Is highly respected and known for forthrightness and professional capabilities. He is also an excellent researcher."
In her remarks the Vice Chancellor Professor Adenike Oladiji represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Development Professor Sunday Oluyamo said " FUTA is a research-intensive university. We take technology to the doorstep of everyone and teach our students to create jobs. We teach them life skills so that they can be adequately equipped for the labour market. Our products are our pride and joy and are excellent in value addition in every field of endeavor. We are privileged to have professionals in various fields impart knowledge to our community and we apply the knowledge received to the betterment of the university and the society."
