Fuwape Eulogizes FUTA Man O' War at 30

The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Professor Joseph Fuwape has commended the operations and contributions of Man O' War Nigeria, FUTA Chapter towards the development of the Institution in the last thirty years of its existence on the campus. He gave the commendation while receiving the leaders of the group at a courtesy call in his office. Professor Fuwape who acknowledged the role the group has played over the years in FUTA, particularly during ceremonial functions and admission processes said "I really appreciate the Man O' War, a set of highly disciplined students, set of people who are cultured and having positive influence on others." He said the group has played positive roles during internal admission exercises and other related official and ceremonial functions in the university over the years by maintaining law and order to ensure smooth conduct of such exercises and functions at no cost to the university. He said "every year Man O' War is always with us to see to the smooth conduct of our post UTME examination. They always display maturity and the university has benefitted immensely from their professional conduct during our important events like matriculation and convocation ceremonies. This relationship which has been sustained over the years cannot be quantified in monetary terms. We can only continue and build on it for further successes."
In recognition of his outstanding example as a purpose driven leader and advocate of peace, an award of special recognition was given to Professor Fuwape. Similarly, other members of staff of the university were given awards. They include: Professor D. Z. Adeyewa, Professor MAK Smith, Professor B K Alese, Professor Gbenga Onibi, Dr. (Mrs) Zainab Falaye,  Mr Ife Oluwole Mr. Ayodele Samuel and Mrs Florence Adetunji. Other awardees include the Ondo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Saka Yusuf Ogunleye, his counterpart in health, Dr. Wahab Adegbenro, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Utility to the Ondo State governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, Engineer Tunji Light Ariyomo and the state Director of the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC), Mrs. Grace Akpabio. Founder of FUTA Man O' War which started on 18th December, 1988, Life Statesman Ayodele Abayomi also witnessed the occasion.
