University of Benin Appoints FUTA’s Erstwhile Director of Human Resource, Ademola Bobola, Registrar


The University of Benin, Edo State has appointed Mr. Ademola Bobola, the immediate past Director of Establishment and Human Resource of the Federal University of Technology Akure as the new substantive registrar of the institution. The appointment, which has been ratified by the university’s Governing Council, takes effect from April 1, 2021 and it is for a single term of five years. Mr Bobola until the new appointment served as the Registrar of the Federal Polytechnic Ile Oluji, Ondo State.

Bobola holds a Bachelor of Education degree in English Language with Second Class Honours (Upper Division) from the then Ondo State University, Ado-Ekiti in 1992; Master of Business Administration from the Federal University of Technology, Akure in 1998, and a Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics from Aston University, Birmingham, United Kingdom in 2013.He is a member of the Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (MANUPA), Nigerian Institute of Management (MNIM) and a Fellow, Chartered Institute of Administration (FCIA), amongst others. Mr. Bobola is bringing to bear on his new job a vast wealth of experience and expertise in Higher Educational Institution and corporate governance spanning 25 years.

Bobola who hails from Ikare in Akoko North- East Local government Area of Ondo State served as the Pioneer Registrar of Mountain Top University, Ogun State between 2015 and 2016. He has attended several international conferences and training workshops within and outside the country, and he is happily married with children.

The Registrar of FUTA , Mr. Richard Arifalo and the Vice Chancellor, Professor Joseph Fuwape have congratulated Mr. Bobola describing the appointment as well deserved and a testimony to the New Registrar’s wealth of experience and the professionalism and excellence of FUTA Registry which they said he would deploy to the advantage of the University of Benin.
