FUTA Alumni Lagos Branch Donates Office Equipment


In a significant contribution to the development of its alma mater, the Lagos branch of the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) Alumni Association has donated essential office equipment valued at four million naira to the Registry of the institution. The equipment, comprising Scanners, a Photocopier, high-speed Printer, and Hp all-in-one Desktops were received by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Adenike Oladiji, who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Professor Timothy Amos, the Registrar, Mr. Charles Adeleye, and the Head of the Directorate of Establishment and Human Resources (DEHR), Mr. Bayo Akinduyile and key Alumni Representatives on Tuesday November 12,2024.

The Vice Chancellor while applauding the gesture noted that the alumni have always been integral to the success of the University. She said, “The Lagos branch has once again demonstrated that the FUTA spirit is one of giving back and uplifting. This donation will significantly enhance our administrative functions, contributing to our service delivery and operational efficiency.”

Also, Speaking on the donation, which was facilitated by a member of Staff, who is also an alumnus, the Secretary of the Lagos branch, Mr. Emmanuel Fambegbe, noted that the Alumni’s gesture reflected the branch's dedication to advancing the Institution's administrative capabilities. He expressed commitment on the part of the branch to continue to support the University in whatever form it could, adding that such donation would be annual henceforth. While expressing himself, he said, “FUTA has given us a foundation to excel in our respective careers, and we are determined to give back in any way possible. This equipment is a testament to our belief in FUTA's vision and our commitment to supporting its growth.”
The Registrar, Mr Charles Adeleye also praised the Lagos Alumni for its dedication to the University. He said that the donation was a noble gesture and the equipment will go a long way in strengthening the Registry’s operations, particularly within the Directorate of Establishment and Human Resources.

Mr. Akinduyile, Head of DEHR, who also expressed gratitude for the much-needed support emphasized the importance of such partnerships, expressing optimism that the donation would inspire additional alumni contributions and praised the University Management for creating enabling environment for teaching, learning, research, and collaboration. In his words, “this gesture is highly commendable and laudable as no one can exist in isolation.” He expressed deep gratitude on behalf of the University for the donation and prayed for more of God’s blessings for the donors.

The Alumni team was led by its National Vice President, Mrs Bukola Ola-Salawu. Other members present include the Secretary of the Lagos Branch, Mr Emmanuel Fambegbe; Pastor Victor Akporherhe, Isiaq Okeyode; Nadege Millogo and Ayomide Arowolo, all from the Lagos branch.
