National Identity Number now Prerequisite for Registration for UTME

The National Identity Number (NIN) issued by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has now become a prerequisite for all prospective JAMB candidates before they can register and sit for the year 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).The new Coordinator, Ondo State office of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation board, Mr. Babatunde Bamisaye stated this during a working visit to the to the Management of the Federal University of Technology Akure, FUTA. He admonished potential candidates to note the information and act accordingly. Mr. Bamisaye said JAMB and FUTA are partners in progress in moving tertiary education in Nigeria to the next level. He said “your effort to sustain the good image of this great institution cannot be overemphasized and I strongly believe that the undisputable cordial relationship between the management of your institution and JAMB; by extension Ondo State office of the Board will be sustained”. While commending the Vice Chancellor, he said “your meritorious service to humanity within and outside the institution is unprecedented, valued and appreciated. Your dynamic style of administration and the manner in which you have been steering the ship of this great citadel of learning towards a successful destination is the talk of Akure, Ondo State and Nigeria at large”. He assured the Vice chancellor of the continued collaboration between JAMB and FUTA for the mutual benefits of both institutions.

Responding the Vice Chancellor Professor Joseph Fuwape appreciated the state coordinator for the visit saying that the partnership between JAMB and FUTA has been cordial and long standing. He described the Registrar of JAMB, Professor Ishaq Oloyede as man with a track record of integrity and transparency doing a great job worth commending. Professor Fuwape said that the success story of JAMB is the success story of tertiary education in Nigeria and that the University will continue to extend its hand of fellowship to JAMB and work with it towards ensuring academic excellence in Nigeria.
