The Deji and paramount ruler of Akure Kingdom, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Odundun II has assured the new Governing Council of the Federal University of Technology Akure, FUTA the support of the Akure people home and abroad.He gave the words of support and royal blessings during the visit of the new Council led by Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Senator Professor Nora Daduut to his palace on Monday August 19,2024.
The royal father said " the palace of the Deji of Akure will always be in 100 percent partnership with the Federal University of Technology Akure. We are totally committed to the success of the university. We will always be available to offer any services required by the university. Your tenure will bring peace and progress to FUTA. You will excel and contribute your quota to the development of FUTA which has become one of the best Universities in Nigeria."
He lauded the giant strides of FUTA in the comity of universities and commended staff and students for their contributions to the growth of the university. He said" FUTA is consistently blazing the trail academically. I am proud to be associated with the school. The university is a pride to Ondo State and Nigeria because of the feats it attains through research output and scholarships."
Oba Aladelusi congratulated members of the new governing council and assured them that the doors of the palace will always be open to them.
Speaking earlier, Senator Daduut said "we have come to solicit your blessings and support to enable us guide and steer the university to even greater heights. We cannot set forth without coming to pay you homage and appreciate you for being a pillar to the university community. We are on a mission to uphold the mandate of excellence FUTA is known for. We are here to serve, and we know that with your support we will achieve our goals."
The Vice Chancellor Professor Adenike Oladiji thanked the royal father for always playing a fatherly role. She said, " you are always passionate about the welfare and growth of this university and each time you visit FUTA, we record something positive."
Professor Oladiji commended staff who are Akure indigenes for their resourcefulness and contributions to the development of the institutions.
Pastor Sikiru Adebayo Raji, from Oyo State, Hon. Sylvester Ogbonna, Ebonyi State, Hajia Rafaatu Garba Hammani, Kebbi State and Rt. Hon. Kenneth Olawale a former Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, all external members of council, internal members of council and principal officers were on the entourage of the Pro- Chancellor.
