FUTA HOLDS MAIDEN TECH TRADE FAIR

A trade fair to display and sell products made by students of the Federal University of Technology, Akure held at the gallery of the University auditorium on Tuesday, December 3, 2019.Various materials, clothes and products that emanated from recent training for 300 level students were on display for member of the University Community and the general public to purchase. Declaring the FUTA Tech trade fair 1.0 open the Vice Chancellor, Professor Joseph Fuwape represented by the Dean, School of Management Technology (SMAT), Professor Akinloye Lawal commended the students for their creativity, innovativeness and doggedness in producing the items and congratulated the Director and staff of Centre for Entrepreneurial Technology (CENT) for a job well done.  While inspecting the items on display he urged the Director to encourage the gesture in all the departments of the Institution and not limit it to a few.

Speaking at the occasion, the Director, Centre for Entrepreneurial Technology (CENT), Professor (Mrs.) Helen Ogunsuyi said the hand work and innovations of the students is evident in the various items displayed.  She said, the dividends of ENT 302 can never be over emphasized.  She urged the University community and members of immediate community to patronize the students so as to sustain their zeal and enthusiasm. Professor Ogunsuyi thanked the Management for its effort at ensuring that the School mantra “Technology for self-reliance” is well entrenched in the students.  The products displayed included building materials, electrical appliances, furniture, fabricated materials and artistic paintings.
